The authors consider the method of lines to solve partial differential equations on a parallel computer. The ordinary differential equations are solved with SDRIV3. They show how to implement in parallel the formation of the Jacobian matrix and solution of the linear equations by Gaussian elimination. Dense and sparse systems are considered. Two test problems are solved.
