The authors give a Hopf algebraic approach to the construction of ind- affine groups associated to some types of infinite dimensional Lie algebras. Their method is related to the method used by \textit{G. Hochschild} [Ill. J. Math. 14, 52-65 (1970; Zbl 0229.20042)] to construct the algebraic group corresponding to a Lie algebra \(L\) in characteristic zero (in the finite dimensional case). Basically, Hochschild obtained the algebraic group associated with the Lie algebra \(L\) as the group whose coordinate ring is the dual Hopf algebra of the enveloping algebra of \(L\).
