Let \(M(H^ \infty)\) denote the maximal ideal space of the algebra \(H^ \infty\) of bounded analytic functions in the open disk \(\mathbb{D}\). As usual, a function \(f\in H^ \infty\) is identified with its Gelfand transform. A sequence \(\{x_ n\}\) in \(M(H^ \infty)\) is called an interpolating sequence if for every bounded sequence \((a_ n)\) in \(\mathbb{C}\) there exists a function \(f\in H^ \infty\) such that \(f(x_ n)=a_ n\) for evry \(n\). In [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 111, No. 4, 1057-1065 (1991; Zbl 0726.46034)] characterizations of the interpolating sequences \(\{x_ n\}_ n\) contained in a Gleason part homeomorphic to the unit disk were obtained. Let \(G\) be the set of all points \(x\in M(H^ \infty)\) with nontrivial Gleason part \(P(x)\). In the paper under review the author now studies interpolating sequences whose elements are contained in distinct nontrivial Gleason parts. It is proved that, whenever \(x_ j\in G\) and \(P(x_ k)\cap\text{cl}\{x_ j\): \(j\neq k\}=\emptyset\), then \(\{x_ j\}_ j\) is an interpolating sequence if and only if there exists an interpolating Blaschke product \(b\) with \(Z(b)\supset\{x_ j\); \(j\in\mathbb{N}\}\). The paper closes with the following interesting question: Let \(\{x_ j\}_ j\) be an interpolating sequence in \(G\). Is \(\text{cl}\{x_ j\): \(j\in\mathbb{N}\}\) contained in \(G\)?
