In a recent paper [Commun. Algebra 18, 3111-3122 (1990; Zbl 0706.16025)] the author, together with \textit{N. J. Groenewald} and \textit{S. Veldsman} has generalized the concept of prime ring to that of equiprime near-ring. In this paper, the concept of equiprimeness is extended to infra-near rings, which were introduced by the reviewer in 1978 [An. Stiint. Univ. Al. I. Cuza Iasi, N. Ser., Sect. Ia 25, 45-56 (1979; Zbl 0419.16024)]. A left infra-near ring (i.n.r.) is a triple \((N,+,.)\) where: (i) \((N,+)\) is a group; (ii) \((N,.)\) is a semigroup; (iii) for all \(x,y,z\in N\), \((x+y)z=xz-0z+yz\); (iv) 0.0=0. An ideal \(P\) of \(N\) is a normal subgroup \(P\) of \((N,+)\) such that \(m(p+n)-mn\in P\) and \(pn-0n\in P\), for all \(p\in P\), \(m,n\in N\). We denote this by \(P\triangleleft N\). The ideal \(P\) is equiprime if \(0N\subseteq P\) and for all \(a,x,y\in N\), the following implication holds: \(anx-any\in P\), for all \(n\in N\Rightarrow a\in P\) or \(x-y\in P\). Denote by \({\mathcal P}_ e(N)\) the intersection of all equiprime ideals on \(N\). Then \({\mathcal P}_ e\) is a Kurosh-Amitsur-radical map in the class \({\mathcal I}\) of all i.n.r.'s. The author defines the equiprime left ideal as being a left ideal \(L\) of \(N\), such that: (i) \(anx-any\in L\) for all \(n\in N\) implies \(x-y\in L\); (ii) \(L\) is left invariant; (iii) \(0N\subseteq L\). It is proved that \({\mathcal P}_ e(N)=\cap\{L\mid L\) is an equiprime left ideal of \(N\}\).
