Dual finite element analysis of axisymmetric elliptic problems with an absolute term (Q1184937)

The author introduces a dual variational formulation of a second order elliptic problem in an axisymmetric bounded domain with mixed type boundary conditions. The finite element technique is used to discuss the error analysis for the approximate solution of this problem within the framework of weighted Sobolev spaces. The technique discussed in this paper can be modified and extended to obtain error estimates for the finite element approximation of unilateral and obstacle problems.
