Generalized semigroup semirings which are zero-divisor-free or multiplicatively left-cancellative (Q1184997)

Let \(S\) be a semiring and \(M\) a free partially commutative monoid. Then the monoid algebra \(S[M]\) is zero-divisor-free (resp. multiplicatively left cancellative) if and only if \(S\) is zero-divisor-free (resp. additively and multiplicatively left cancellative). The same holds for the algebra of series \(S[[M]]\).
