Timelike surfaces in Lorentz 3-space with prescribed mean curvature and Gauss map (Q1185399)

The author gives a timelike version of the work of \textit{K. Kenmotsu} [Math. Ann. 245, 89-99 (1979; Zbl 0402.53002)] for a surface in Euclidean 3-space and \textit{S. Nishikawa} and \textit{K. Akutagawa} [Tohoku Math. J., II. Ser. 42, No. 1, 67-82 (1990; Zbl 0679.53002)] for a spacelike surface in \(L^ 3\); he proves, that the Gauss map and mean curvature of a timelike surface in \(L^ 3\) satisfies a system of partial differential equations and gives representations for a timelike surface in terms of its Gauss map and mean curvature; applications are given for timelike minimal surfaces, particularly a Weierstrass representation.
