Lifting Fourier-Stieltjes transforms and transferring cocycles (Q1185404)

Let \(G\) be a locally compact group and \(G_ 0\) a closed subgroup. A linear isometry \(\mu\mapsto J_ \mu\) of \({\mathcal M}(\widehat G/G_ 0^ \perp)\) into \({\mathcal M}(\widehat G)\) is exhibited; \(J_ \mu\geq 0\) if and only if \(\mu\geq 0\); \(J_ \mu\in L^ 1(\widehat G)\) if and only if \(\mu\in L^ 1(\widehat G/G_ 0^ \perp)\). Such liftings give rise to cocycle transfers.
