The author considers the square of the Dirac operator \(D\) on the hyperbolic space \(\mathbb{H}^ n\). He proves that the Dirac fundamental tone \(\lambda^*(D^ 2,\mathbb{H}^ n)=0\). As he mentions, this is a consequence of the results of \textit{U. Bunke} [The spectrum of the Dirac operator on the hyperbolic space, Preprint University Greifswald]. While U. Bunke applied representation theory and the Parthasarathy formula to the proof of his further going results, the author uses more direct elementary methods like Weitzenböck formulas and direct analytic estimations of the first eigenvalue of \(D^ 2\) on the ball of radius \(R\).
