The paper presents the following result: Let \(y(x)\) be the solution of the initial-value problem \(y'(x)=g(y)f(x,y)\), \(y(x_ 0)=\beta>0\), where \(f(x,y)\) is a strictly monotone increasing Lipschitz continuous function of \(y\) and \(G(u)\), defined by \(G(u)=\int(du/g(u))\), is a continuous strictly decreasing operator. Then there is a sequence of positive iterates \(y_ n\) such that \(y_ 1(x) < y_ 3(x) <\dots < y_{2n-1}(x) < \dots < y(x) < \dots < y_{2n}(x) < \dots < y_ 4(x) < y_ 2(x)\), where \(y_ n(x)=G^{- 1}(\int^ x_{x_ 0}f(u,y_{n-1}(u))du+G(\beta))\). Finally, this result is applied to a nonlinear problem of partial differential equations in transport phenomena.
