This paper, the second of two parts, continues to study the potential theory developed in part 1 [ibid. 337-383 (1992; see the preceding review)]. It shows that Green's pairings on curves over non-archimedean local fields can be interpreted in terms of the intersection theory of a model over the rings of integers. If the vertical fibre of the model is irreducible, then the Green's pairing is just the intersection pairing on horizontal divisors, but more generally the Green's pairing corresponds to intersections on a certain subgroup of the divisor group. The paper then shows that ``potential theory'' on a curve over a global field depends functorially on the given curve, and that it satisfies a projection formula and an adjunction formula.
