Central extensions and \(H^ 1(L, L^*)\) of the graded Lie algebras of Cartan type (Q1188269)

Second cohomology groups of trivial modules of Cartan type Lie algebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic \(p>0\) are calculated. This problem is reduced to the problem of describing coadjoint modules and its first cohomology groups. The structures of \(H^ 1(L,L^*)\) and \(H^ 2(L,F)\), where \(L=W(n,m)\) for \(p>0\), \(S(n,m)\) for \(n\geq 3\) and \(p>2\), \(H(n,m)\) for \(p>2\), or \(K(n,m)\) for \(p>2\) and \(n+3\not\equiv 0\pmod p\), are determined. These results in characteristic \(p\geq 3\) cases were obtained by the reviewer and R. Farnsteiner. In the characteristic \(p=0\) case central extensions of infinite-dimensional Cartan type Lie algebras have been described by the reviewer [Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 26, No. 4, 21-29 (1992)].
