The present studies deal with the traction problem for a viscoelastic liquid, taking a one dimension problem described by a third-order integro-differential Volterra type equation. The results are compared with the already known smooth solutions for such problems. The author has investigated a class of generalized solutions for certain initial-boundary value problems for the flow under consideration. With the assumptions that the fluid occupies a reference configuration given by unit interval and the Newtonian viscosity is a positive constant, the author has concentrated only on the boundary traction problem. This means that, apart from prescribing initial displacement and initial conditions, the traction forces are assumed to act on the fluid at the boundary. The presentation of paper is good and is recommended for the researchers involved in the studies of \(K-BKZ\) fluids.
