On \({\mathbb{C}}^ n\), there is only one locally convex topology, but on an infinite dimensional vector space, several topologies exist. The study of holomorphic maps on infinite dimensional complex vector spaces is thus a study of the interplay of the holomorphic and topological properties of the space. This book is a well written introduction to the study of these questions. A large number of examples are given to illustrate the different phenomena studied and to show the necessity of the hypotheses in the theorems. In particular, what is different in this treatment is the potential theoretic viewpoint, which is the guiding spirit throughout the book. The book is divided into six chapters. The first gives the basic properties of the topological vector space structures. The second studies the analytic properties of holomorphic maps. The third studies the relationship between the analytic and topological properties of holomorphic maps. The fourth studies plurisubharmonic functions in infinite dimensional spaces, and the fifth gives relationships between plurisubharmonic functions and holomorphic properties. The last chapter deals with holomorphic maps between domains in infinite dimensions.
