[The articles of this volume will not be indexed individually.] This volume contains a collection of papers which present different aspects of the most recent research in the phase transitions, one of the fundamental problems of physics. The material of part I ``continuum mechanics'' is divided into 4 sections: a-liquid crystals; b-elastic crystals; c-fluids, d-general theory. Part II ``mathematical analysis'' emphasizes the mathematical aspects of present subject and includes papers dealing with the study of oscillations, singular solutions, admissibility of shock waves, role of higher order perturbations.
