Structure of the generalized Friedmann problem (Q1190218)

This paper is the first in a series promising to provide a systematic study of the effects of the choice of local time foliations in general relativity, especially in the context of cosmological problems (generalized Friedman) corresponding to spatially homogeneous metrics. Of particular concern here is finding that choice of coordinates which will best facilitate the study of, and closed-form solution to, the resulting differential equations. This procedure is compared to the choice of angle to replace time in the classical Kepler orbital problem.
