To describe the Couette shear in high-concentration electrorheological fluids in the presence of an electric field, the continuous inhomogeneous dielectric medium approximation is employed. In this approximation the forces of interaction of polarized particles are considered to originate as a result of the competition between Maxwellian tensions and pressures at the surface of contact between dielectrics.
