Pareto-optimal forms of axisymmetric bodies moving at high supersonic speeds (Q1190889)

The problem of optimizing the shape of an axisymmetric body with respect to three criteria, namely the wave resistance and radiative and convective heating during its motion in the atmosphere at supersonic speeds, is considered. The optimal solution of the problem with many criteria is described as the Pareto-optimal solution. A system of integrodifferential equations is obtained for determining the optimal solution. A numerical algorithm of the solution is proposed, and used as the basis for the numerical determination of the optimal body.
