    Let \(\sum a_ n\) be a given infinite series with the partial sums \((S_ n)\). Let \((p_ n)\) be a sequence of positive real constants such that \(P_ n=\sum^ n_{v=0} p_ v\to\infty\) \((P_{-i}=p_{-i}=0,\;i\geq 1)\). The transformation \(t_ n={1\over P_ n}\sum^ n_{v=0} p_ v S_ v\) defines the sequence \((t_ n)\) of the \((\overline N,p_ n)\)- means of the sequence \((S_ n)\). The series \(\sum a_ n\) is said to be summable \(|\overline N,p_ n|_ k\), \(k\geq 1\), if \(\sum^ \infty_{n=1}\left({P_ n\over p_ n}\right)^{k-1}| t_ n- t_{n+1}|^ k<\infty\). Let \(f\) be a periodic function with period \(2\pi\), Lebesgue-integrable over \((-\pi,\pi)\) and let \[ f(t)\sim\sum^ \infty_{n=1}(a_ n \cos nt+b_ n \sin nt)=\sum^ \infty_{n=1} A_ n(t). \] Generalizing his own earlier result [Bull. Inst. Math., Acad. Sin. 17, No. 2, 165-170 (1989; Zbl 0697.42006)], the author proves the following Theorem: Let \(k\geq 1\) and let the sequences \((p_ n)\) and \((\lambda_ n)\) be such that \(\Delta X_ n=O\bigl({1\over n}\bigr)\), \(\sum^ \infty_{n=1}X^{k-1}_ n{|\lambda_ n|^ k+|\lambda_{n+1}|^ k\over n}<\infty\), and \(\sum^ \infty_{n=1}(X^ k_ n+1)|\Delta \lambda_ n|<\infty\), where \(X_ n=P_ n/np_ n\). Then the summability \(|\overline N,p_ n|_ k\) of the series \(\sum^ \infty_{n=1} A_ n(t)\lambda_ n X_ n\) at a point can be ensured by a local property.
