\textit{W. Takahashi} [Kodai Math. Sem. Reports 22, 142-149 (1970; Zbl 0268.54048)] introduced the concept of a convex metric space and showed that some fixed point theorems in Banach spaces can be generalized to this setting. Subsequently several mathematicians studied nonexpansive mappings in convex metric spaces. In this paper the authors investigate and get further results in the same vein.
