The main result of the paper is Theorem 2: Suppose that \(f\) is a continuous function on \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) with compact support and assume that \(\text{supp} f=K_ 1\cup K_ 2\), where \(K_ 1\) and \(K_ 2\) are disjoint compact sets. Let \(W\) be a neighbourhood of \(K_ 1\) and let \(B\) be a ball contained in the unbounded component of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\setminus K_ 1\). Assume that the integral of \(f\) along \(L\) vanishes for every line \(L\) that meets \(B\) and \(W\). Then \(K_ 1\) is empty.
