In [Lect. Notes Math. 832, 259-279 (1980; Zbl 0491.16015)] \textit{E. Green} has exhibited a family of finite dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field \(A_ n\) of global dimension \(n\), all of them having precisely two nonisomorphic simple modules. In the present paper, the author relates some homological properties of \(A_ n\) to number- theoretic properties of the Fibonacci numbers. He also shows that for \(n\) odd, \(A_ n\) is not derived equivalent to a quasi hereditary algebra.
