The author investigates the problem of speciality of two simple Jordan superalgebras: the superalgebra \(J_{VF}\) of vector fields on a line and the superalgebra \(J_{PB}\) of Poisson brackets. Both these superalgebras one can construct by doubling a unital associative commutative algebra \(A\) with a bracket, a skew-symmetric product \(\times\) on \(A\). Let \(\overline A\) be an isomorphic copy of the module \(A\) and \(J(A)=A\oplus\overline A\). Define multiplication on \(J(A)\) by the rules: \(a\cdot b=ab\), \(a\cdot\overline b=\overline b\cdot a=\overline{ab}\), \(\overline a\cdot\overline b=a\times b\); then \(J(A)\) is a commutative superalgebra with \(J(A)_ 0=A\), \(J(A)_ 1=\overline A\). The author calls the bracket \(\times\) (and the corresponding superalgebra \(J(A))\) of vector type, if it is built of a certain derivation \(D\) of \(A\): \(a\times b=D(a)b-aD(b)\); and of Poisson type, if it is a Lie product on \(A\), satisfying the Leibniz rule: \((ab)\times c=a(b\times c)+(a\times c)b\). Both superalgebras of vector and of Poisson type are Jordan superalgebras. Now if \(A=F[x]\) is a polynomial ring and \(D=d/dx\), then \(J(A)=J_{VF}\) is the superalgebra of a vector field on a line; and if \(A=F[x_ 1,\dots,x_ n;y_ 1,\dots,y_ n]\) and \(f\times g=\sum_ i\left({\partial f\over\partial x_ i}{\partial g\over\partial y_ i}- {\partial f\over\partial y_ i}{\partial g\over\partial x_ i}\right)\), then \(J(A)=J_{PB}\) is the superalgebra of Poisson brackets. The superalgebras \(J_{VF}\) and \(J_{PB}\) are simple in characteristic 0 case, and in characteristic \(p>0\) their truncated versions are simple. The main result of the paper is that any Jordan superalgebra of vector type is special, but the superalgebra \(J_{PB}\) of Poisson brackets is not special. The author constructs also a simple Jordan superalgebra \(J(A)\), which is neither of vector nor Poisson type.
