From the mathematical point of view, the capacity of a perfect conductor \(E\subset R^ N\), \(N\geq 3\), is determined by the capacitary potential \(w\), which is a harmonic function outside of \(E\), equals 1 on \(E\), tends to zero at infinity and is continuous on \(R^ N\). The author solves approximately this boundary problem for a slender toroidal set in \(R^ N\); the slender toroidal set is defined in the paper. This is the main result of the paper. Under some restrictive conditions, the approximate solution could be improved through the enlargement of the approximate order. He precises these conditions for the case of some symmetries of the toroidal set and for the case when the external boundary of the torus respects some restrictions.
