The paper contains a mathematical model that describes the bubble dynamics and wave propagation phenomena in two-component vapour-liquid mixtures. The model takes into account both the liquid radial inertia due to medium volume changes, and the temperature distribution of the surrounding medium. A criterion has been proposed to identify cases of diffusion resistance responsible for the anomalous effect of the component concentration on bubble behaviour and wave propagation. It has been shown that the wave propagation profiles in a binary bubble mixture may not lie between the corresponding profiles for boiling single- component media. Also, the phase change delay due to diffusion has been found to result in markedly higher mixture wave velocities and a smaller damping ratio as compared to the respective single component systems.
