A mixed-type interpolation method based on both algebraic and trigonometric polynomials is applied for generating high order accuracy finite-difference formulae for fourth-order differential equations. The method can be used especially for the lower-lying eigenvalues. Numerical calculations and a parallelized form of the algorithm are discussed.
