    The authors present a method for the numerical solution of \(f(x)=g(x)+\int =^ 1_ 0(t-x)^{-2}f(t)dt\), \({0<x<1}\), where the integral is taken in the Hadamard or finite-part sense, and study experimentally the behavior of the error for \(f(x)\) equal to one of the functions \(x^ \nu\) (\(\nu\) rational), \(x^ m\) (\(m\) integral), \([x(1- x)]^{3/2}\), \(\sin\pi x\), \((1/2)+(x-c)/(2| x-c|)\), \((1/2)(c+x(1- 2c)-| x-c|)\), \((3/4)(x-c)^ 2-(1/4)(x-c)| x-c|+(1/2)(x- c)(c^ 2+2c-1)+(1/2)c(c^ 2-1)\), \((1/2)+(1/4\varepsilon)| x- c+\varepsilon| + (1/4\varepsilon)| x-c-\varepsilon|\).
