The author considers the \(q\)-oscillator algebra \(A\) for \(q\)-boson operators and defines lowest weight modules for it. It is shown that this algebra can be realized in terms of the generators for the two- dimensional quantum space. The extended \(q\)-oscillator algebra \(A'\) is constructed by joining to \(A\) elements of \(C_ t\) where \(C_ t\) is the algebraic extension of the field of rational functions in \(t\). It is proved that there exist transformations mapping one set of standard generators of the algebras \(A\) to another set of standard generators. Coefficients of these mappings are from \(C_ t\). The \(k\)-th \(q\)-boson states are expressed in terms of polynomials. The author calls them \(q\)- Hermite polynomials since they reduce to the ordinary Hermite polynomials when \(q\to 1\).
