Following \textit{R. K. Dennis} and \textit{M. R. Stein} [Lect. Notes Math. 342, 243-280 (1973; Zbl 0271.18011)], the author of this paper defines a generalized Dennis-Stein symbol. A commutative ring \(R\) is said to be weakly quasi-universal for \(\text{SL}_ 2\) if \(K_ 2(2,R)\) is generated by generalized Dennis-Stein symbols as a normal subgroup of \(\text{St}(2,R)\). The author gives a sufficient condition for a Euclidean domain to be weakly quasi-universal for \(\text{SL}_ 2\), and obtains how to get an explicit presentation of \(\text{SL}(2,\mathbb{Z}[1/p_ 1,\dots,1/p_ n])\). Also, the author establishes a certain formula using three units, and determines the group structure of \(K_ 2(2,\mathbb{Z}[1/3])\) explicitly.
