Let the periodic matrices \(A,B\) of type \(m\times m\) have a constant rank \(n\) where \(n<m\). The system (1) \(A(t)\dot x+B(t)x=0\) is reducible to a form \[ \left[{I\atop 0} {0\atop Q+{d\over dt}}\right]{z_ 1\brack z_ 2}={0\brack 0}, \] with the matrix \(Q\) constant and of type \(n\times n\) iff there exists a matrix \(L(t)\) such that \(X(t)=L(t){0\brack e^{tQ}}\) is a fundamental matrix for (1).
