Generalisation of the Goetschel-Voxman embedding (Q1197823)

By introducing a new metric the author extends the embedding of Goetschel and Voxman [\textit{R. Goetschel jun.} and \textit{W. Voxman}, ibid. 10, 87-99 (1983; Zbl 0521.54001)] to a subspace of normal, fuzzy convex, upper semicontinuous fuzzy numbers of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) which have their supports contained in a fixed compact cube of \(\mathbb{R}^ n\). The embedding maps the subspace into \(\ell_ 2(\mathbb{R}^ n)\). Both the embedding and its inverse are Lipschitz continuous, although with respect to different metrics on the subspace.
