The paper studies the solution of a nonlinear functional equation describing the eversion of elastic spherical caps. Axially symmetric deformations are assumed. If the cap opening angle, the radius and the elastic constants have been fixed, the cap thickness compatible with stable everted equilibrium shapes may be calculated. Numerical results for one special case are given.
