    The author studies the asymptotic decay of solutions to the following Cauchy problem: \[ u_ t-\Delta u_ t=b\cdot\nabla u+u^ p a\cdot\nabla u, \qquad u|_{t=0}=u_ 0, \] where \(x\in\mathbb{R}^ 2\), \(t\in\mathbb{R}^ +\), \(a,b\in\mathbb{R}^ 2\), \(p\in\mathbb{Z}^ +\); a dot means scalar product in \(\mathbb{R}^ 2\). Existence, uniqueness and regularity of this problem is studied in a paper by \textit{J. A. Goldstein}, \textit{R. Kajikiya} and \textit{S. Oharu} [Differ. Integral Equ. 3, No. 4, 617-632 (1990; Zbl 0735.35103)]. It is proved that if \(p\geq 3\), \(b\neq 0\) and \(\| u_ 0\|_{L^ 1}+\| u_ 0\|_{W^{11,2}}\) is sufficiently small, then \(| u(t,x)|\leq C(1+t)^{-2/3}\) for all \(t\geq 0\).
