On the fixing of values of sequences of seminorms (Q1198907)

Let \(H\) be a family of seminorms on a Banach space \(X\). Set \[ {\mathcal M}_ H= \Bigl\{ f\in X: \sup_{f\in H} h(f)\leq 1\Bigr\},\quad{\mathcal M}^*_ H=\Bigl\{ f\in{\mathcal M}_ H: \lim_{\| h\|\to\infty} h(f)=0\Bigr\}. \] Several results concerning sequences of seminorms and sequences of elements from \({\mathcal M}_ H^*\) are obtained. Also, applications to the asymptotic behavior of the approximation of functions are given.
