The author is concerned with the three-dimensional problem of interactions between a line dislocation and an imperfectly bonded spherical inclusion. Some fundamental solutions are given. The effects of imperfect bonding and diffusional relaxations on the long range interactions are examined in some detail in the case where the distance between the dislocation and the inclusion (or particle) is much larger than the radius of inclusion. The author adopts an approach similar to the one used by Comninou and Dunders for long range interactions between a screw dislocation and a perfectly bonded spherical inclusion. The results are compared with those given in two-dimensional case.
