The resonance phenomenon of the wave equation \[ {{\partial^ 2u} \over {\partial t^ 2}}+ \sigma{{\partial u} \over {\partial t}} -\sum^ n_{i,j=1} \left( a_{ij} {{\partial u} \over {\partial x_ j}}\right) +c(x)u=f(x,t), \qquad (x,t)\in G\times [0,\infty),\;G\subset\mathbb{R}^ m, \] with boundary condition \(u=\psi\) on \(\partial G\times[0,\infty)\) is studied in the way that in the case of \(\sigma=0\) there are defined periodic boundary functions \(\psi\) and forcing functions \(f\) such that the corresponding solution tends to infinity as \(t\) tends to infinity through some sequence. Moreover lower estimates for the maximal values of these solutions (also if \(\sigma\geq 0)\) are obtained in terms of solutions of a second order ordinary differential equation. Two examples are given.
