The grid generation scheme presented here is based on the solution of a hyperbolic system of equations derived from conditions of orthogonality of the curvilinear coordinates and constancy of the Jacobian. This approach is particularly suitable for exterior problems, in that the grid is constructed by starting on a body and marching outward. The special care required by kinks and corners in the body is discussed.
