We discuss the temperature distribution within the boundary layer when a heated sphere is set into motion with constant acceleration. Using the method of successive approximations, we derive expressions for the fluid temperature in closed form. The temperature is expressed as a series in powers of time and terms up to second order are obtained. Finally we evaluate the heat loss per unit area from the surface of the sphere.
