In this interesting paper the author extends the so called ``Equivariant branching lemma'', proved for bifurcation of stationary solutions by \textit{G. Cicogna} [Lett. Nuovo Cimento 31, 600-602 (1981)] and \textit{A. Vanderbauwhede} [Local bifurcation and symmetry, Res. Notes Math. 75, Pitman, Boston (1982; Zbl 0539.58022)] (see also \textit{G. Cicogna}, J. Phys. A, Math. Gen. 23, L 1339--L 1343 (1990; Zbl 0737.34024) for a recent extension to the case of bifurcation problems symmetric under general groups of Lie-point transformations) to gauge symmetries and gauge-symmetric problems. I mention that some of the presented results are connected with the ``Symmetric criticality principle'' of \textit{R. Palais} [Commun. Math. Phys. 69, 19-30 (1979; Zbl 0417.58007)].
