The author announces his complete classification of smooth projective compactifications \(X\) of \(\mathbb{C}^ 3=X-H\) with \(b_ 2(X)=1\): \(X\) has to be a Fano threefold of first kind of index \(1\leq r\leq 4\). The cases \(r\geq 2\) were settled in the author's former papers. In this paper, he announces the classification for \(r=1\): \((X,H)\) is either \((V_{22},H^ 0_{22})\) or \((V_{22},H^ \infty_{22})\) (which form 4-dimensional families). Here: \(V_{22}\) is a Fano threefold of genus 12, degree 22 in \(\mathbb{P}^{13}\) (by the anticanonical embedding), and \(H^ 0_{22}\) (resp. \(H^ \infty_{22})\) is a nonnormal hyperplane section of \(V_{22}\) whose singular locus is a line \(Z\) with normal bundle in \(V_{22}\) of type \((-21,1)\) such that \(\text{mult}_ Z(H^ 0_{22})\) (respectively mult\((H^ \infty_{22}))\) is 2 (respectively 3) at a general point of \(Z\). Finally, the author describes explicitly the modifications which permit to construct all such compactifications of \(\mathbb{C}^ 3\), starting from the standard compactification \((X,H)=(\mathbb{P}^ 3,\mathbb{P}^ 2)\).
