The authors formulate a model in terms of a discrete time dynamical system with stochastic perturbations. An integral recurrence relation for densities is derived, and a linear integral operator that describes the evolution of densities is developed. The authors prove new sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic behaviour of the density evolution. The results are applied to existing models for the cell division process.
