The author considers an age-structured, two-sex population dynamical model in which vital birth rates are density dependent through a dependence on total population numbers. He shows that the maximal sustainable yield is obtained by an age and sex specific harvesting policy that is realized by impulsive harvesting of at most five age classes. He does not consider how these five age classes should be distributed, except that it is necessary to harvest at least one age class of both sexes.
