Let \(S\) be the set of all real sequences \(a=(a_ 0,a_ 1,\dots)\), \(S_ 1\) the set of all convex sequences \((S_ 1\subset S)\) and \(S_ 2\) the set of all mean-convex sequences, i.e., \(A=(A_ 0,A_ 1,\dots)\in S_ 1\), where \(A_ n=(a_ 0+\dots+a_ n)/(n+1)\), \(n=0,1,\dots \;.\) In this paper, the authors determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for a real sequence \(p\) such that the inequality \(\sum^ n_{k=0}p_ ka_ k\geq 0\) holds for all sequences \(a\in S_ 2\). Some necessary and sufficient conditions for a linear operator \(L\) defined on \(S_ 2\) to be positive are also pointed out.
