A continuous-review inventory process is considered with a fixed re-order level and a fixed order quantity. The lead time is constant. It is assumed that the demand is Poisson. During the stockout the demand is lost and a maximum of two orders may be outstanding at any time. A numerical procedures for computing the steady-state probabilities is described. A comparison with three alternative approximate models is given.
