Some nonmetric, first countable, cancellative topological semigroups that are generalized metric spaces (Q1203832)

Even though first countable topological groups are metrizable, the behavior of first countable topological semigroups can be quite bad. The author gives examples of non-metrizable first countable cancellative topological semigroups that have one or more of the following properties: quasi-metrizable, locally compact, Moore space, Nagata, paracompact.
