The authors use stochastic jump processes to study the behavior of the membrane depolarization potential of the neurons in McCulloch-Pitts type systems. This is done by looking at a time scale smaller than the mean interspike time. Some properties of the jump processes are obtained from generalized Ito calculus. An expression for the firing probability of a neuron in a time interval is derived. Finally, a stochastic model for memory loading is described.
