This article is devoted to the problem of finding the coefficients \(\sigma (x)\) and \(q(x)\) in a linear differential operator \[ {\mathcal L} u = u_{tt} - \Delta u + \sigma (x)u_ t - q(x)u \quad (t \in \mathbb{R},\;x \in \mathbb{R}^ 3) \] for which some family of solutions is known. The main results are a new uniqueness theorem and a new procedure of continuation for solutions of hyperbolic equations.
