The computer reconstruction of motion from plane images leads to a problem of reconstructing lines in \({\mathbf P}^ 3\) from 3 plane images assumed in projective correspondence. The critical set is set for which the problem is not unique. For generically positioned centers, the critical set is found to be an irreducible line congruence of order 3, class 6, and 10 singular points, the vertices of the cubic cones in the congruence.
