The following quasi-linear system of integro-differential equations of the mixed type is considered in the domain \(Q=(0,M)\times(0,T)\): \(\partial\eta/\partial t=\partial u/\partial x\), \(\eta=1/\rho\), \(\partial u/\partial t=\partial\sigma/\partial x+g[x_ c]\), \(\sigma=\nu\rho(\partial u/\partial x)-p\), \(p=k\rho\theta\), \(c_ v(\partial\theta/\partial t)=\partial\pi/\partial x+\sigma\partial u/\partial x+f[x_ e]\), \(\pi=\lambda\rho(\partial u/\partial x)\), \(x_ e=\int^ x_ 0 \eta(\xi,t)d\xi\). The initial and boundary conditions are \(u\bigl|_{x=0,M}=0\), \(\pi\bigl|_{x=0,M}=0\), \(\eta\bigl|_{t=0}=\eta^ 0\), \(u\bigl|_{t=0}=u^ 0\), \(\theta\bigl|_{t=0}=\theta^ 0\). The existence of generalized solution is proved without the requirement of smoothness of functions \(\nu\), \(k\), \(c_ v\), \(\lambda\). The derived estimates for the solution do not depend neither on the number of discontinuities, nor on the variation of these functions, and hold under the assumption that \(u^ 0\) and \(\theta^ 0\) have finite complete initial energies and finite entropies.
