The paper deals with the relation between the uniform asymptotic stability and contractive semigroups of mappings in locally convex topological vector spaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a \([0,\infty)\)-semigroup on a uniform space \(X\) to be contractive are found. Two examples are given.
